Here is what the page “Adam Reed’s New HBO Animated Series ‘Merrick & Treves’ Mixes Time Travel with Jack the Rip” contains. Adam Reed, the creator behind FX’s long-running spy comedy Archer, is teaming up with HBO for a new animated series titled Merrick & Treves. The show centers on a pair of time-traveling heroes who attempt to stop the infamous Victorian-era serial killer Jack the Ripper. Reed is co-creating the project, bringing his signature irreverent humor and sharp dialogue to a sci-fi historical premise that blends period drama with modern animated comedy.
While HBO has not announced a premiere date, the combination of Reed’s cult following and the streamer’s push into adult animation suggests Merrick & Treves could become a breakout hit. The series joins a growing slate of high-profile animated projects at HBO, which has been investing heavily in the genre to compete with rivals like Netflix and Hulu.
