Aid organizations are sounding the alarm over a deepening humanitarian crisis in Lebanon, with nearly 830,000 people displaced due to ongoing military operations. Among them are around 300,000 children, many of whom face severe shortages of food, clean water, and medical care. Elie Yaacoub, leading Mercy Corps’ crisis analysis team in Lebanon, highlights the urgent need for international support as living conditions deteriorate rapidly across affected regions.
The situation is compounded by widespread damage to infrastructure, limited access to healthcare, and growing economic instability. Humanitarian agencies stress that without immediate intervention, the risk of disease outbreaks and further displacement will increase. The crisis continues to unfold amid complex regional dynamics, placing immense pressure on local communities and aid providers alike.
