“American Girl's Samantha Parkington Returns in First Adult Novel: 'The Next Chapter' Bring” — what this page in the network covers. Mattel's American Girl brand is making history with the release of "Samantha: The Next Chapter," its first novel aimed at adult readers. Since her debut in 1986, Samantha Parkington has been one of the most cherished characters among millennials who grew up with the dolls, and now she's back in a story set in her Edwardian era.
Author Valerie Tripp, who created Samantha and many other American Girl characters, ages her up while staying true to her spirit—Tripp emphasizes the book is not 'spicy' but offers a mature, heartfelt continuation. The novel explores Samantha's life as a young woman navigating societal changes, women's suffrage, and personal growth, resonating with readers who have grown up alongside her. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
