“Apple TV's 'Servant' Is the M. Night Shyamalan Horror Gem You Missed” — what this page in the network covers. Apple TV+ houses an underrated horror gem in Servant, a four-season series from M. Night Shyamalan that masterfully blends family drama with creeping suspense. The show centers on a Philadelphia couple, Dorothy and Sean Turner, whose baby dies and is replaced by a lifelike doll as part of Dorothy's therapy—until a mysterious nanny, Leanne, arrives and the doll appears to become real.
Servant explores grief, faith, and the uncanny, asking whether Leanne is a miracle worker or something far more sinister. With its claustrophobic setting and slow-burn tension, the series has drawn comparisons to The Haunting of Hill House and From, yet it remains largely overlooked by mainstream audiences. For fans of psychological horror that prioritizes atmosphere over jump scares, Servant delivers a uniquely unsettling experience.
