NASA's Artemis II mission successfully concluded with a precise splashdown off the coast of San Diego at 8:07 p.m. ET, marking the end of a historic 10-day journey around the Moon. The crew returned to Earth after traveling farther from our planet than any humans before them, completing a critical milestone in deep space exploration. The reentry phase was closely monitored for its technical challenges, including extreme heat and precise trajectory control, ensuring a safe descent and recovery.
The live stream captured every stage of the return, from atmospheric entry through parachute deployment and final ocean impact. Recovery teams swiftly reached the capsule to retrieve the astronauts, who were in good health following the mission. This achievement sets the stage for future lunar missions, demonstrating the reliability of systems designed for human deep space travel. The event was widely covered across platforms, highlighting global interest in NASA’s renewed efforts to explore the Moon.
