Content overview: “Autopian: The Musical — Plot, Songs, and Cast We’d Love to See”. The Autopian, the beloved car culture website, could be the next unlikely subject for a Broadway musical. With shows based on Billy Joel’s songbook and even a chess match, nothing seems off-limits for the stage. So why not a musical about a crew of passionate automotive journalists?
The plot might follow the team’s daily quest to find and share the most interesting car stories, from barn finds to high-tech EVs, all while navigating the chaos of the internet. Songs could include an upbeat opening number about the morning news meeting, a power ballad about a forgotten project car, and a show-stopping ensemble piece about a cross-country road trip. The cast would need actors who can sing, dance, and convincingly pretend to know the difference between a carburetor and a fuel injector.
