Here is what the page “Bacchus Floor Mosaic Inspires Yellow Terrazzo and Marble Apartment Renovation in Athens” contains. In Athens' Kypseli district, architecture studio Space is Around Us has transformed a 100-square-meter apartment, drawing inspiration from an existing Bacchus floor mosaic at the entryway. The original artwork, depicting the Roman god of wine, guided the reintroduction of Dionysus marble, yellow terrazzo, and curved geometry throughout the space. The renovation celebrates the apartment's heritage while introducing contemporary materials and forms.
The use of yellow terrazzo echoes the mosaic's warm tones, while Dionysus marble adds a tactile, luxurious feel. Curved elements, such as arched openings and rounded furniture, soften the interior and create a fluid flow between rooms. This project demonstrates how historical details can inform modern design, resulting in a home that is both rooted in its context and forward-looking.
