Brent Crowell, acclaimed director and producer of ‘Sight Unseen’, is set to revive the spirit of Canadian cinema by developing a new feature titled 'Evangeline'. Set to be produced by Ocean Playground Productions, the film draws inspiration from the historical narrative depicted in the first-ever Canadian film of the same name from 1914.
Both narratives center around the tragic expulsion of the Acadians in 1755, focusing on themes of love, loss, and resilience. Crowell aims to introduce this timeless story to new audiences while respecting the original material. His adaptation promises to blend rich historical context with modern storytelling techniques, making it relevant for today’s viewers.
