“CBS's Fire Country and Sheriff Country Universe Thrives Without Overusing Crossovers” — what this page in the network covers. CBS is building a successful interconnected TV universe with Fire Country and Sheriff Country, and the key to its success is restraint. Unlike other franchises that rely on constant character crossovers, these two shows maintain their own identities while existing in the same world. Fire Country, led by Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan, focuses on inmate firefighters in Northern California, while Sheriff Country, starring Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox, brings a law enforcement angle to the same region.
The shows occasionally reference each other and share a setting, but they don't force weekly crossovers. This approach allows each series to develop its own storytelling and audience without feeling like a gimmick. It matters because it proves that shared universes can work on network television without diluting individual shows. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
