Hulu is developing a comedy series titled Townhouse, created by emerging writer Zoe Young. The project centers on a once-famous reality star whose career has declined, with Chelsea Handler attached to play the lead role. Handler will also serve as an executive producer on the series, which is being produced under 20th Television. The story explores the character’s attempts to reclaim relevance in a shifting entertainment landscape.
The series is set to explore themes of fame, identity, and reinvention through a humorous lens. While details about the plot and supporting characters remain limited, the development marks a new creative direction for Handler, known for her stand-up and previous television work. Townhouse reflects Hulu’s ongoing investment in original scripted comedies from fresh voices in the industry.
