France’s annual farming exhibition, Le Salon de l'Agriculture, concluded recently with a noticeable decline in visitor numbers compared to previous years. Organisers reported a 25 percent drop in attendance during the opening days, which some attribute to the event’s unusual lack of traditional cattle displays. This change follows a recent cattle disease outbreak that led to the omission of cows, a staple attraction of the show.
Despite the absence of livestock, the event aimed to offer children and visitors a glimpse into rural life and farming culture. Various activities and exhibits allowed attendees, especially younger ones, to engage with agricultural themes and learn about farm life in other ways. The show continued to promote awareness of farming practices, even without the usual presence of live animals.
