Content overview: “Clayface Director James Watkins Says Blame Him If DC Movie Disappoints Fans”. As DC Studios' Clayface generates early buzz, director James Watkins is preemptively taking responsibility for any fan disappointment. In a candid statement, Watkins made it clear that if audiences don't like the movie, the blame rests squarely on his shoulders—not the cast, crew, or studio. The filmmaker's willingness to own the outcome comes as the film, part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DC Universe, aims to redefine the shape-shifting villain for a modern audience.
Clayface, a classic Batman rogue, has never headlined a solo film, making this a high-stakes gamble for DC Studios. Watkins, known for thrillers like Eden Lake and The Woman in Black, brings a horror-infused sensibility to the character, which fans hope will deliver a fresh take.
