Constance Wu has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated 'Crazy Rich Asians' sequel series will begin filming in 2027 for HBO. In an exclusive interview, Wu revealed the timeline and explained why fans will have to wait a few more years before returning to the world of the Young, Leong, and Chu families. The original 2018 film, based on Kevin Kwan's bestselling novel, became a cultural phenomenon, grossing over $238 million worldwide and sparking conversations about Asian representation in Hollywood.
Wu, who played Rachel Chu, will reprise her role alongside other original cast members. The delay is reportedly due to scheduling conflicts and the creative team's commitment to delivering a story that honors the source material.
