Content overview: “Cyberpunk 2077 Live-Action Movie Will Tell a New Story in the Same Universe, CD Projekt Re”. CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the upcoming live-action Cyberpunk 2077 movie will not be a direct adaptation of the video game. Instead, the film will explore a new narrative set within the same dystopian universe. This decision allows the movie to stand on its own while leveraging the rich world-building and iconic elements that made the game a global phenomenon.
The project is being developed in collaboration with Anonymous Content, known for producing acclaimed series like True Detective and Mr. By opting for an original story, CD Projekt Red aims to attract both devoted fans and newcomers, expanding the franchise's reach beyond gaming. The move also reflects a broader trend in Hollywood of adapting video game IPs with creative freedom rather than strict fidelity.
