Content overview: “Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 Producer Bartosz Sztybor Reveals Roman’s Backstory”. Fans of the hit anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners have been eager for details on the sequel, and now showrunner Bartosz Sztybor is shedding light on one of its central characters, Roman. In a recent interview, Sztybor, who serves as producer and writer for Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2, explained the creative decisions behind Roman’s backstory—or the deliberate lack thereof. He emphasized that leaving parts of Roman’s past ambiguous allows viewers to project their own experiences onto the character, deepening engagement with the dystopian world of Night City.
This approach aligns with the series’ themes of identity and survival in a hyper-capitalist future, where personal history is often fragmented or erased. Sztybor’s comments come as anticipation builds for the sequel, which follows the massive success of the first season on Netflix and its expansion of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.
