Indiana cornerback D'Angelo Ponds made a significant impression at the 2026 NFL Combine despite his undersized frame. His performance drew widespread attention, particularly for a vertical jump that ranked among the most impressive in combine history. The measurement highlighted his explosive athleticism and ability to compete with larger defensive backs, challenging assumptions about size limitations in the position.
Ponds’ showing has elevated his draft stock and generated increased interest from NFL teams evaluating his potential as a high-upside defensive back. His combination of speed, agility, and leaping ability suggests he could thrive in coverage roles requiring quick reactions and strong ball skills. Scouts are now closely analyzing his film and physical traits to assess how well his combine performance translates to game action.
