Content overview: “DC Studios' Mister Miracle Animated Series Targets 2028 Release, Multiple Seasons Planned”. DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran has confirmed that the upcoming Mister Miracle animated series is targeting a 2028 release, with potential for multiple seasons. Speaking exclusively to Collider, Safran revealed that the series, based on Tom King's acclaimed comic book run, is in active development and could continue beyond its first season. The project is part of DC Studios' expanding slate of animated content, which includes other high-profile adaptations.
Mister Miracle, the escape artist superhero created by Jack Kirby, has seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to King's critically praised 2017-2018 limited series, which explored themes of trauma, depression, and war. Safran's comments suggest that DC Studios is investing heavily in the character's potential for long-form storytelling. With a 2028 target, the series is still in early stages, but the confirmation of a release window and multi-season ambitions signals DC's commitment to adapting King's work for a new audience.
