“First Batman Details in James Gunn's DC Universe Confirmed: What We Know” — what this page in the network covers. James Gunn's DC Universe is finally shedding light on its Batman, with new details confirmed as the franchise expands this fall. The Caped Crusader will appear in the upcoming animated series "Creature Commandos," voiced by actor Alan Tudyk. This marks the first official Batman content in Gunn's rebooted DCU, separate from Matt Reeves' "The Batman" universe.
The confirmation comes as DC Studios builds toward its first live-action film, "Superman," slated for 2025. While the exact role Batman plays in the larger narrative remains under wraps, his inclusion signals a strategic move to anchor the new universe with its most iconic hero. For fans and industry watchers, this is a clear sign that Gunn is weaving key characters into the fabric of the DCU from the very beginning, setting the stage for future crossovers and solo projects.
