Here is what the page “Fortnite and Epic Games Store Coming to Linux, Boosting Steam Deck and Steam Machine Gamin” contains. Epic Games has confirmed it is bringing Fortnite and the Epic Games Store to Linux, a move that could unlock popular battle royale titles like Fortnite and Apex Legends on devices such as the Steam Deck and Steam Machine. The announcement was quietly included in a blog post about the new, heavily criticized 'vibe-coded' Epic Games Store, which will also support Linux. This development addresses a long-standing gap, as Fortnite's anti-cheat software previously blocked play on Linux-based systems.
By expanding to Linux, Epic opens the door for millions of Steam Deck users to access its ecosystem without workarounds. The timing is notable, as Valve's SteamOS continues to gain traction beyond the Steam Deck, and other anti-cheat providers have recently improved Linux support.
