Gamgee was founded after the founder’s dog Rosie faced a terminal cancer diagnosis despite conventional treatments. In response, Paul Conyngham leveraged AI and genomic analysis to pinpoint unique targets within her tumour, leading to the development of what is believed to be the first fully computationally designed mRNA cancer vaccine for a dog. The treatment led to significant tumour reduction and improved quality of life. Building on this success, Gamgee is creating an end-to-end platform for personalised mRNA cancer vaccines in dogs, using sequencing data from both tumour and healthy tissue to identify cancer-specific mutations and design tailored immune responses.
The company manages every step of the process—from initial vet consultation and tissue collection to genomic analysis, vaccine production, administration, and ongoing monitoring. Gamgee is currently conducting clinical trials across Australia in collaboration with veterinarians, oncologists, and specialised labs, accepting cases worldwide. By turning a single case into a scalable system, the goal is to make personalised cancer treatment accessible to all dogs while continuously refining the approach through each new case.
