A closer look at “God of War Laufey Collector's Edition Omits Game Disc, Sony Follows Ragnarok Precedent”, exactly as the source publishes it. Sony's newly announced God of War Laufey Collector's Edition will not include a physical game disc or digital download code, a decision that may surprise fans but follows the company's recent pattern with high-end collector's items. The move comes after the God of War Ragnarok special edition accidentally shipped without download codes, an error that Sony later rectified. This time, the omission is intentional, positioning the Laufey edition as a premium collectible for dedicated fans who already own the game or prefer digital purchases.
The edition focuses on physical memorabilia, likely including art books, statues, or other exclusive items, while requiring a separate game purchase. For collectors, this approach reduces duplicate game copies but also raises the overall cost to experience the full package.
