“GTA 6's 2026 Release Date Makes It Eligible for The Game Awards 2026, Avoiding an Awkward ” — what this page in the network covers. Rockstar Games' highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is officially slated for a 2026 release, which means it will be eligible for The Game Awards 2026. This timing avoids the awkward situation of the game being excluded from this year's awards due to its release date falling after the eligibility cutoff. The Game Awards typically requires games to be released by mid-to-late November to qualify for that year's ceremony.
With GTA 6 not arriving until 2026, it sidesteps any potential controversy over being overlooked in 2025. The game is one of the most awaited titles in gaming history, with massive expectations following the record-breaking success of GTA 5, which has sold over 200 million copies. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
