HBO Max has officially confirmed that the comedy series Hacks will conclude with its fifth season. The announcement follows earlier comments from star Hannah Einbinder, who acknowledged the show’s end during a recent interview. While previous statements about the series’ fate were retracted, the current confirmation marks a definitive close to the critically acclaimed show. The final season is set to premiere on HBO Max later in 2026, with a trailer already released to build anticipation.
The series, created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky, centers on a seasoned comedian and her young writer as they navigate the evolving landscape of stand-up comedy. With its sharp writing and strong performances, Hacks has earned praise for blending humor with heartfelt storytelling. The fifth season will bring closure to their dynamic partnership and explore new directions for both characters as they face personal and professional challenges.
