Following the Confederation of African Football's decision to award the AFCON title to Morocco instead of Senegal, rumors spread online claiming the trophy had been secretly stored in a military base in Senegal. These claims gained traction on social media, but they are unfounded. France 24’s Charlotte Hughes clarified that there is no evidence supporting the idea of the trophy being hidden, and the video clips circulating were taken out of context. The actual location of the trophy remains undisclosed, but it is not housed in any military facility.
