Content overview: “HBO Orders Two Seasons of Animated Comedy ‘Merrick & Treves’ from ‘Archer’ Alums Adam Reed”. HBO has placed a two-season order for “Merrick & Treves,” a new half-hour animated comedy from three key creatives behind FX’s long-running hit “Archer.” Adam Reed, Casey Willis, and Lucky Yates are teaming up for the series, which is set inside Queen Victoria’s top-secret Royal Temporal Constabulary. The show follows a team of unlikely heroes who voyage back in time, blending historical settings with animated adventure. The two-season commitment signals HBO’s confidence in the project and its creators, whose previous work on “Archer” earned a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim over 14 seasons.
For viewers, the series promises the same sharp wit and ensemble chemistry that made “Archer” a standout, now applied to a steampunk-tinged Victorian era. The order also reflects a broader trend of streaming and premium cable networks investing in adult animation with proven talent.
