Sony Pictures has set November 10, 2027, as the release date for the film adaptation of the video game Helldivers. The movie will be directed by Justin Lin, recognized for his work on multiple installments of the Fast & Furious series. Jason Momoa has been cast in the lead role, bringing his physical presence and screen charisma to the project. The film is based on the popular cooperative shooter developed by Arrowhead Game Studios.
Gary Dauberman, known for his writing on horror films including Annabelle, is attached as screenwriter. The project aims to translate the game’s militaristic tone and satirical edge into a cinematic experience. While details about the plot remain under wraps, the casting and direction suggest a high-octane action narrative with strong visual effects. The announcement marks a significant step in adapting the game into a broader entertainment franchise.
