Content overview: “Hudson Williams Stars in Canadian Witch Thriller ‘Yaga’ on AMC+, but It’s No ‘Heated Rival”. Fresh off the hockey romance phenomenon “Heated Rivalry,” Hudson Williams takes a supernatural turn in “Yaga,” a Canadian witch thriller now streaming on AMC+ in the U.S. The actor’s rising profile earns him a “with” credit, but the series struggles to replicate the cultural heat of his breakout role. While “Heated Rivalry” scored with fans through its sports drama and central chemistry, “Yaga” leans into folk horror and mystery, targeting a different audience.
The show’s atmospheric setting and occult themes may appeal to genre fans, but early reception suggests it lacks the broad, buzzworthy appeal that made Williams a name to watch. For viewers curious about the actor’s range, “Yaga” offers a darker showcase, yet it’s unlikely to become the next must-watch hit.
