Jens Christian Grøndahl, a celebrated Danish author whose works have reached audiences across more than 25 countries, expresses deep pride in Europe’s cultural richness. He highlights the unique ability to journey just a few hours and encounter distinct traditions, languages, and landscapes, all while sharing common historical and philosophical foundations. This blend of difference and unity, he says, is one of Europe’s greatest strengths.
Grøndahl emphasizes that diversity, when embraced, becomes a source of creative and intellectual power. His own success, both in Denmark and France, reflects the openness and connectivity fostered by European collaboration. Through literature, he sees a bridge between nations, reinforcing shared values and mutual understanding. For him, being European means celebrating variety without losing a sense of belonging.
