Here is what the page “Igor Shesterkin Joins Elite Group of NHL Goalies Who Scored a Goal” contains. New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin etched his name into NHL history on Thursday by scoring a goal, becoming just the 15th netminder in league history to accomplish the feat. Shesterkin fired the puck into an empty net late in the third period against the Philadelphia Flyers, sealing a 5-1 victory. The goal makes him the first Rangers goalie to score since Henrik Lundqvist in 2015, and only the third in franchise history, joining Lundqvist and Mike Richter.
Across the NHL, goalie goals remain exceedingly rare—Shesterkin’s tally is the first since 2023, when both Linus Ullmark and Tristan Jarry found the back of the net. The moment highlights Shesterkin’s skill and awareness, as he became the first Russian-born goalie to score an NHL goal. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
