Iko Uwais is set to headline “Warrior,” an upcoming Indonesian action film that marks a return to his cultural and martial arts roots. Known internationally for his role in the “Raid” series, Uwais will once again showcase his expertise in Silat, the traditional Indonesian martial art that defined his early career. The film centers on a skilled fighter navigating personal and societal challenges, blending intense choreography with a story grounded in local traditions and values.
The project highlights a growing trend of Indonesian talent reclaiming narratives within their own cinematic landscape. With Uwais at the forefront, “Warrior” aims to deliver authentic action sequences while emphasizing the depth of Indonesia’s fighting arts heritage. The film is expected to resonate both domestically and among global audiences interested in culturally rich, high-octane storytelling.
