The iPhone has made multiple trips to space, becoming a familiar companion for astronauts on missions. Notably, during the Artemis II mission, astronauts used iPhones to capture high-quality images of Earth and deep space, showcasing the device’s reliability beyond terrestrial limits. This follows a legacy of Apple products in space exploration, including the Macintosh Portable, which sent the first email from orbit in 1985. These milestones highlight Apple’s enduring presence in aerospace technology.
Other Apple devices have also ventured into space, contributing to scientific and exploratory efforts. The integration of consumer electronics into space missions reflects advancements in durability, performance, and connectivity. While the specific models used beyond the iPhone are not detailed here, their inclusion underscores a broader trend of commercial tech playing a role in space travel. These achievements are documented by media outlets like CNET and featured in video content shared across platforms such as NovaTube News.
