A closer look at “Is Batman in DCU's Clayface Movie? Casting Status and What It Means for James Gunn's Gotha”, exactly as the source publishes it. The upcoming Clayface movie, DC Studios' first R-rated Batman villain film in James Gunn's new DC Universe, is set to establish Gotham City's dark underworld. But the big question remains: will the franchise's new Batman make an appearance? As of now, no actor has been cast as the Dark Knight for the DCU, and the film's focus on the shape-shifting villain suggests Batman may only be referenced or cameo.
Directed by Mike Flanagan and written for the big screen, Clayface is part of Gunn's Chapter One slate, aiming to build a cohesive universe separate from previous DCEU films. The movie's R-rating allows for a horror-tinged take on the character, potentially positioning Gotham as a dangerous place before Batman's full introduction.
