Content overview: “Jim Harbaugh Backs Mike McDaniel Amid 0-4 Start as Justin Herbert’s Struggles Deepen for C”. Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh publicly defended Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel on Monday, despite McDaniel’s team opening the season with four straight losses. Harbaugh, who coached against McDaniel during their time in the NFC West, praised his offensive creativity and leadership, calling the 0-4 start a temporary setback for a talented roster. The comments come as Harbaugh’s own Chargers offense is sputtering, with quarterback Justin Herbert posting career-low numbers in completion percentage and yards per attempt.
Herbert, once viewed as a top-five NFL quarterback, has thrown just three touchdowns through four games and appears limited by a lingering ankle injury. The Chargers rank 28th in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game, and have failed to eclipse 20 points in three of four outings.
