“Karla Sofía Gascón and Itziar Ituño to Star in Spanish Political Fantasy Satire 'When Devi” — what this page in the network covers. Oscar-nominated Karla Sofía Gascón and 'Money Heist' star Itziar Ituño are attached to lead the cast of 'When Devils Rule' ('Los demonios mandan'), a six-part Spanish political fantasy satire. The project, from Atlantika Films, is set to be pitched at Tallinn's TV Beats Co-Financing Market on November 16-17. Ituño reunites with director Rodrigo Susarte, known for their collaboration on the Basque series 'Go!azen.' The series explores a good-versus-evil narrative with political undertones, blending fantasy and satire—a timely combination as audiences seek escapism with sharp social commentary.
Gascón's rising international profile following 'Emilia Pérez' and Ituño's global fanbase from 'Money Heist' give the project strong market appeal. As the show enters development, its presence at a major co-financing event signals confidence in its cross-border potential for streamers and broadcasters alike.
