The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has been restored and refilled with water after a distinctive renovation project led by President Donald Trump. This initiative involved repainting the pool's floor using a hue referred to by the President as 'American flag blue.' While the initial budget was estimated between $1.5 and $2 million, recent federal documentation reveals that the expenditure has escalated to around $14 million due to contracts awarded for the work.
This substantial increase in costs and the decision to alter the pool's traditional appearance have generated discussion among both critics and supporters regarding the administration's modifications to national monuments. A timelapse video exhibits the concluding phase of the project as the water returns to the pool, which is now accessible to visitors in its refreshed state.
