“Lisandro Martínez Slams Man United Hierarchy: ‘I Expect More’ Investment After Atlético De” — what this page in the network covers. Lisandro Martínez has ignited a firestorm at Old Trafford by publicly criticizing Manchester United’s leadership following a 2-0 loss to Atlético Madrid. The Argentine defender singled out director of football Jason Wilcox, stating, “I expect more from our technical director,” and admitted the squad is not among the best compared to other top teams. His outburst, delivered in a post-match interview, reflects deep frustration with the club’s recruitment and ambition.
Martínez’s comments raise urgent questions about the relationship between players and the executive team, especially with co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the football operations under scrutiny. The defender’s call for greater investment underscores a growing divide between the dressing room and the boardroom, as United’s season continues to underwhelm.
