At Open Sauce 2026, Linus Tech Tips launched the TrueSpec Cable Challenge, offering a $1,000 reward if their high-performance cable failed during the event. Sponsored by Tello, the test pushed the cables to their limits across extreme setups and creative engineering feats from the maker community. The challenge focused on real-world stress scenarios, including high-power configurations and non-standard builds, to evaluate durability and reliability under intense conditions.
The video captures the full testing process, showcasing how the TrueSpec cables performed against some of the most innovative projects at the convention. Viewers can explore featured builds like Sentry Six and CRT VR, highlighting the versatility of modern connectivity solutions. For those interested in trying the cables themselves, they are available through the LTTStore. This event stands as a testament to the demands placed on today’s technology infrastructure and the importance of dependable hardware.
