Here is what the page “Manchester United Draw Up Five-Man Shortlist to Replace Michael Carrick Amid Midfield Over” contains. Manchester United are reportedly preparing a five-man shortlist as they seek a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick, according to Friday's newspapers. The former England midfielder has been a pivotal figure at Old Trafford since 2006, but with his playing career winding down, the club are planning for the future. The shortlist is said to include a mix of established stars and emerging talents, though the specific names remain under wraps.
This move signals United's intent to rebuild their midfield engine room, which has often lacked control in big games. With Carrick's contract expiring and his transition into coaching likely, the Red Devils are acting early to avoid a void. The club's hierarchy, led by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and manager Jose Mourinho, are under pressure to deliver silverware after a mixed start to the season.
