Content overview: “Mass Effect TV Show Still in Development at Prime Video Despite EA Closing BioWare and Can”. The Mass Effect television series for Prime Video remains in active development even after Electronic Arts shut down BioWare and canceled the next Mass Effect game, according to a source speaking to IGN. All key creative talent attached to the project, including BioWare project director and executive producer Mike Gamble, are reportedly still signed on despite the layoffs.
The show has been in the works since 2021, with Doug Jung (Star Trek Beyond) serving as showrunner and Daniel Casey (Fast & Furious 9) writing. Prime Video continues to invest heavily in video game adaptations, with the Mass Effect series joining upcoming Tomb Raider and God of War shows, as well as the hit Fallout series returning for a third season.
