A large number of people gathered in Iran to participate in the funeral prayers for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the recently deceased leader. Attendance at the event was noticeably greater than the previous day, reflecting the significance of the occasion. Among those present, three of Khamenei’s sons stood near the coffin, although his son Mojtaba, who is seen as his successor, did not appear publicly. Observers believe the Iranian authorities may highlight the large turnout to demonstrate widespread popular backing.
The funeral served both as a tribute to Khamenei and his family members and as an important moment of political symbolism for the country. Analysts are closely examining the participants and absences to better understand the current leadership situation in Iran. This event represents a pivotal moment as the nation faces the challenges of power transition under intense domestic and international observation.
