Thousands of people have gathered in Tirana, Albania’s capital, to protest a proposed resort development linked to Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner. The demonstration, ongoing for more than a week, reflects widespread public concern over the project’s environmental impact, potential displacement of local communities, and perceived lack of transparency in the approval process. Residents and civic groups argue that the investment undermines national sovereignty and raises questions about foreign influence in sensitive land-use decisions.
The protests highlight growing skepticism toward large-scale international developments with high-profile connections. Activists emphasize the need for inclusive planning and stronger oversight, particularly when private investments involve prominent political figures. While the project remains officially under review, the sustained public opposition has intensified calls for greater accountability. The situation continues to draw attention from both domestic and international observers.
