“Mets Rumors: Pairing Tarik Skubal with Another All-Star Starter for 2025” — what this page in the network covers. The New York Mets are exploring ways to build an elite starting rotation this offseason, with Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal emerging as a primary target. Skubal, a 2024 All-Star and Cy Young contender, posted a 2.39 ERA with 228 strikeouts last season. Pairing him with another high-caliber All-Star pitcher would give the Mets a formidable one-two punch atop their rotation.
While the Mets already have Kodai Senga returning from injury, adding Skubal and another proven arm could transform the team into a World Series favorite. The Mets have financial flexibility under owner Steve Cohen, but acquiring Skubal would likely require a significant prospect package. If the Mets can land both Skubal and a second All-Star, they would address their biggest weakness from 2024. The full version stays on the original page, which this listing opens directly.
