Migrant Women in Ceuta Face Harassment Amid Crisis | Nova Video Hub

Following a significant influx of migrants into Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, women who arrived on July 30 have reported extremely difficult conditions while awaiting registration. Many face overcrowded and unsanitary environments, often sleeping outdoors without proper shelter. Beyond these physical hardships, they live under the constant threat of sexual harassment, intensifying their vulnerability.

Authorities estimate that between 5,000 and 8,000 individuals remain in Ceuta weeks after the initial surge, which overwhelmed local resources due to a deadly border crossing involving 72,000 people from Morocco. Women migrants, in particular, experience heightened risks of abuse and exploitation, compounded by insufficient shelter, sanitation, and security measures. This situation highlights the urgent need for Spanish and European officials to implement protective measures and address the broader causes of such migration crises, ensuring the safety and dignity of all affected individuals.
