Warner Bros is bringing together director Mike Flanagan and author Stephen King for a new film adaptation of The Mist, based on King’s well-known novella from 1980. Flanagan will take on both directing and screenwriting duties for the project. This collaboration marks another partnership between the two, with Flanagan also serving as a producer through his company Red Room.
The production team includes Tyler Thompson and Gary Barber from Spyglass, who will also produce the movie. This new version of The Mist aims to bring a fresh take on King’s story, blending Flanagan’s distinctive filmmaking style with the original material. The project is set to continue the long-standing creative relationship between Flanagan and King under the Warner Bros banner.
