A major GTA wiki has left the Fandom platform due to concerns over content censorship and disruptive advertising practices. The move comes ahead of the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6, as community-driven sites seek more control over their content and user experience. This decision follows similar actions by wikis dedicated to games like Runescape, Balatro, and Minecraft, which have also migrated away from Fandom in recent years.
The shift highlights growing dissatisfaction among gaming communities with centralized platforms that prioritize monetization over editorial independence. With increasing reliance on AI tools for news aggregation and content discovery, users are turning toward alternatives that offer cleaner interfaces and fewer restrictions. The departure underscores a broader trend where creators and fans demand transparency and better governance in online knowledge-sharing spaces.
