“Musical Times Overcomes Traffic to Stay Unbeaten in bet365 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket” — what this page in the network covers. Musical Times extended her perfect record with a hard-fought victory in the bet365 Fillies' Mile at Newmarket, overcoming significant traffic problems in the closing stages. The Aidan O'Brien-trained filly had to be switched to the outside to find clear running, but once in the clear she quickened impressively to get up on the line. The win cements her status as one of the leading juvenile fillies in Europe and a major contender for next year's Classics.
Jockey Ryan Moore praised her attitude, noting that she 'really dug deep when it mattered.' The victory is a boost for the Coolmore operation, which continues to dominate the top two-year-old races this season. With the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket next spring now a likely target, Musical Times has emerged as a genuine star in the making.
