Nancy Social Housing / ABC Studio

A new social housing project in Maxéville, near Nancy, France, has been completed by ABC Studio. The development comprises 20 units designed for seniors, situated on the Haut-du-Lièvre plateau. This location is historically significant, home to Zehrfuss’s former housing block—the longest in Europe at one time—and a panoramic tower that once stood as Lorraine’s tallest structure. The building marks the final phase of this landmark area’s evolution.

The design integrates with the surrounding landscape while addressing contemporary needs for accessible senior living. The project reflects a thoughtful approach to urban renewal and community-focused architecture. It contributes to ongoing efforts to modernize aging infrastructure in the region. The development stands as an example of adaptive reuse and sustainable design within a culturally rich setting.
