The USS George Washington is set to take over operations in the Middle East, replacing the USS Abraham Lincoln amid growing concerns over crew welfare. The Lincoln's extended nine-month deployment has drawn attention due to reported food shortages and harsh living conditions, leading to mental health issues among sailors. Some family members have shared distressing accounts, including incidents where crew members attempted to jump overboard. The Navy has acknowledged these challenges while emphasizing its commitment to crew safety and well-being.
