Pope Leo XIV made a powerful appeal for law and justice during his first day in Equatorial Guinea, a nation often criticized for its restrictive governance and human rights record. Speaking in the country’s capital, he called on authorities to uphold legal fairness and ethical leadership, emphasizing that true progress depends on justice for all citizens. The visit, rare for a leader of his stature in such a closed society, has drawn international attention to ongoing concerns about civil liberties and political freedoms in the region.
The news was reported live by FRANCE 24's Seema Gupta from Rome, capturing the Pope’s message as part of broader global scrutiny of Equatorial Guinea’s policies.
