Cuba’s deputy foreign affairs minister, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, has issued a strong warning to the United States against any potential military intervention. Speaking on PBS News Hour, she stressed that such action would be reckless and could lead to massive loss of life and extensive damage across the island. While affirming Cuba’s desire for peace and diplomatic resolution, Vidal underscored the nation’s readiness to defend its sovereignty, calling it unrealistic to assume otherwise in the face of possible threats.
